The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently decided to revoke the affiliations of several schools situated in Bihar, Manipur, and Jharkhand.
In Bihar, the affiliation of 26 schools was terminated due to their inability to improve the recommended facilities outlined by the Board. Reports indicate that these schools were charging elevated amounts for annual fees, monthly fees, and admission fees without corresponding improvements in their infrastructure.Consequently, the CBSE made the decision to cancel their registrations, emphasizing the importance of schools aligning with prescribed standards to maintain affiliation.
In Manipur, the CBSE has revoked the affiliation of 25 schools due to several irregularities. According to media reports, these schools lost their affiliations because they failed to submit the required no-objection certificates to the CBSE.
In December 2023, the CBSE revoked the affiliation of 10 schools in Jharkhand due to their non-compliance with the Board’s guidelines. Experts noted that these schools were charging exorbitant fees from students without offering sufficient infrastructure or academic facilities.
